Suns 124, 76ers 113: Gerald Green scored a season-high 30 points on 10-of-12 shooting as visiting Phoenix used a fast start to knock off Philadelphia.
Goran Dragic added 24 points and seven assists for the Suns, who earned their second win in as many nights and fourth in their last five games. P.J. Tucker contributed 15 points and eight rebounds and Miles Plumlee had 14 points and a game-high 13 boards for Phoenix, which won the rebounding battle 42-37.
Michael Carter-Williams totaled 22 points and a game-high 11 assists to lead the offense for the 76ers, who lost for the 10th time in their last 12 games. Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young each scored 21 points and Spencer Hawes chipped in with 18 points and nine rebounds for Philadelphia, which committed 21 turnovers.
The Suns were on fire off the opening tip, draining 10 of their first 11 field goals while getting a 10-for-10 start from Dragic and Green as part of an opening frame that finished with a 14-point Phoenix advantage. The Suns' 10 first-half turnovers prevented them from running away early and Philadelphia closed the gap to 62-54 by halftime despite Phoenix shooting 61.5 percent.
The 76ers hung around for much of the third quarter, pulling to within 90-82 before Tucker sank 3-of-4 from the free throw line as part of a 5-0 spurt that allowed the Suns to close the period up 95-82. Philadelphia trimmed the deficit to eight on three separate occasions in the final quarter before Green sandwiched a pair of crushing 3-pointers around a running dunk with 2:11 to play.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Phoenix set season highs for first-quarter points (40) and free-throw makes (29). ... The 76ers shot 25-of-26 from the free-throw line, led by a 7-of-7 showing from Carter-Williams. ... Suns F Markieff Morris scored at least 13 points for the seventh straight game.
