Hawks 104, Magic 94: Jeff Teague scored 19 points and handed out 13 assists as Atlanta held off a late surge from visiting Orlando to improve to 2-0 at home.
Paul Millsap added 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Hawks had six players score in double figures, including all five starters. Al Horford pitched in 15 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four blocks for Atlanta, which came into the game averaging an Eastern Conference-best 105.2 points.
Arron Afflalo totaled 21 points and had seven assists for Orlando, which dropped its second straight game following a three-game winning streak. Jameer Nelson contributed 13 points and shot 3-of-6 from 3-point range for the Magic, who also received 13 points and six rebounds off the bench from Andrew Nicholson.
The Hawks took a 46-45 lead into halftime thanks largely to a nine-point, five-assist first-half performance from Teague. Atlanta opened the second half on an 18-2 run, powered by 10 points from DeMarre Carroll and six from Millsap but Orlando refused to fade and closed the third quarter on a 24-8 run to trim the Hawks' lead to 72-71.
Atlanta rolled off the first seven points of the final quarter before 3-pointers from Afflalo and E'Twaun Moore pulled the Magic to within 79-77. Afflalo's third long-range bucket of the game gave Orlando its latest lead at 88-87 with 3:49 to play before Horford sparked a 10-0 run with four straight points and capped it with a key assist on a Kyle Korver 3-pointer to ice the game for Atlanta.
