Kevin Martin led the way with 22 points and Luis Scola added 17 points and nine rebounds as the visiting Houston Rockets held off the Sacramento Kings, 102-93, on Sunday.
Kyle Lowry chipped in 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Rockets, who hit 11 3-pointers to help overcome 20 turnovers.
Clinging to a two-point lead going into the fourth quarter, the Kings held on for the first few minutes, pushing it to 89-86 when Samuel Dalembert dunked with 9:11 remaining.
Lowry’s jumper two minutes later put Houston back on top, and Brad Miller’s 3-pointer stretched the advantage to four at 93-89.
Sacramento managed one field goal over a seven-minute stretch until DeMarcus Cousins made a layup with 2:10 left to cut the deficit to two at 95-93. The Rockets answered right away, making it a two-possession game when Martin converted a three-point play.
Cousins finished with 19 points and Tyreke Evans added 14 for the Kings, who have dropped five straight.
