Amar’e Stoudemire scored 26 points and fueled a fourth-quarter run as the New York Knicks defeated the host Atlanta Hawks 92-79 on Sunday.
Landry Fields scored 15 points and Carmelo Anthony added 14 points for New York (32-29).
Josh Smith had 17 points and 11 rebounds to pace Atlanta (37-26).
New York led by just one point early in the fourth quarter before Stoudemire scored six points during an 11-0 run. Shawne Williams capped the spurt with a 3-pointer to give the Knicks a 75-63 lead with 7:07 remaining.
Roger Mason hit a 3-pointer less than two minutes later to give New York an 83-65 advantage.
Williams had 12 points and made four of the Knicks’ 10 3-point baskets.
Kirk Hinrich recorded 15 points for Atlanta. Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford added 14 points apiece.
Hawks center Al Horford had just four points on 2-of-8 shooting.
The Knicks had given up 115 or more points in three of the previous six games since Anthony joined the team via trade from the Denver Nuggets.
New York played without injured guard Chauncey Billups, who missed his third consecutive game with a thigh injury.
