Hunter Sallis scored in bunches on his way to 30 points as Wake Forest overcame visiting Stanford for an 80-67 victory Wednesday night in Atlantic Coast Conference play at Winston-Salem, N.C.
Tre'von Spillers cranked out 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Demon Deacons (13-4, 5-1 ACC) won their fourth game in a row.
Sallis, who made three 3-point baskets, shot 12-for-17 from the field and Spillers was 8-for-10. Sallis, who at one point in the second half had 10 straight Wake Forest points, eclipsed the 20-point mark for the sixth consecutive game.
Cameron Hildreth, boosted by 10-for-10 shooting on free throws, finished with 12 points.
Oziyah Sellers led Stanford (11-6, 3-3) with 16 points, while ACC scoring and rebounding leader Maxime Raynaud provided 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Raynaud was held to nearly seven points below his season scoring average, going 6-for-11 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers. Yet it produced his nation-leading 14th double-double.
Stanford's Jaylen Blakes added 15 points and Ryan Agarwal had 14 points, but the Cardinal made only 8 of 24 attempts from 3-point range.
Wake Forest won despite shooting 3-for-11 on 3-pointers.
Stanford, which had a two-game winning streak snapped, was hurt by 13 turnovers compared to only six giveaways by the Demon Deacons.
Stanford was within 64-63 with less than five minutes remaining. Then at 68-65, Sallis drained a 3-point shot and, on the next possession, converted a three-point play to boost the Demon Deacons to a 74-65 lead.
While Sallis and Spillers had strong shooting nights, Hildreth went 1-for-12 from the field after racking up 31 points Saturday at Miami. As a team, the Demon Deacons shot 50 percent from the field and collected nine offensive rebounds.
Stanford led 13-4 in the game's first three minutes, but the Cardinal's lead was 35-33 at halftime. Wake Forest's 17-for-26 shooting from the field in the second half changed the game's complexion.
