Troy Brouwer scored a power-play goal to snap a tie just over 7 1/2 minutes into the third period and Corey Crawford turned aside 33 shots as the Chicago Blackhawks skated to a 3-1 triumph over the visiting Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville missed the game after experiencing "severe discomfort" late Tuesday night. The 52-year-old Quenneville was admitted to a local Chicago hospital early Wednesday morning. Assistant coach Mike Haviland guided the team in Quenneville's absence.

Defenseman Brian Campbell netted a power-play goal, Jake Dowell added an empty-net tally and Dave Bolland notched three assists as Chicago (29-22-6) recorded just its third win in nine contests (3-4-2).

Just 34 seconds after Matt Cullen leveled the contest for the Wild, Brouwer netted a power-play goal for his second tally in as many games and 17th of the season.

Brouwer wristed a centering feed which was intended for Marian Hossa, but the puck caromed off the stick of defenseman Greg Zanon and into the net at 7:33 of the period. The goal served as Brouwer's 100th career NHL point.

Campbell opened the scoring by blasting a shot from the high slot past Jose Theodore at 12:59 of the first period. The tally was Campbell's third of the season and first since Dec. 30.

Theodore finished with 34 saves for Minnesota (30-22-5), which has dropped two in a row after its three-game winning streak.
