Chris Singleton led the way with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting and added 10 rebounds as Florida State kept its ACC title hopes alive with a 72-63 victory at Georgia Tech on Thursday.
Michael Snaer chipped in 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting for the Seminoles (17-7, 7-3 ACC), who dominated on the defensive end and held the Yellow Jackets to 30 percent shooting from the field.
Florida State is the only team in the ACC that owns the tiebreaker over first-place Duke, and is two games back with six left to play.
Georgia Tech shot 19 percent in the first half, led by a combined 5 of 23 from stars Glen Rice Jr. and Iman Shumpert. The Seminoles had no such difficulties as they opened up a 17-2 lead in the first eight minutes and cruised into the break with a 30-18 lead despite getting outrebounded 24-14.
Florida State did not let the Yellow Jackets get any closer than seven points in the second half, and held off a minor surge in the final minutes when Shumpert got hot.
Shumpert finished with 25 points on 9-of-23 shooting for Georgia Tech (10-13, 3-7).
