Trail Blazers 112, Pistons 101: LaMarcus Aldridge had 31 points and 12 points and Portland handed visiting Detroit its eighth straight loss.
J.J. Hickson added 18 points and 15 rebounds and Wesley Matthews and Nicolas Batum scored 17 points apiece for Portland, which led by 12 with 5:09 left before Detroit cut the deficit to 102-99 with 2:11 remaining. The Trail Blazers responded with eight unanswered points to secure their second straight win.
Rodney Stuckey scored a season-high 32 points to lead the Pistons, who lost all four games of its Western Conference road trip. Will Bynum added 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting off the bench.
All five starters scored in double figures for Portland, which made 23 of its 24 shots from the foul line and avenged a 108-101 loss to the Pistons on Nov. 26. Damian Lillard missed nine of his 12 shots and finished with 14 points.
Aldridge, who was 13-of-21 shooting, scored on each of Portland’s first four possessions in the fourth quarter to put the Trail Blazers ahead 85-81 with 9:32 left.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lillard’s streak of scoring at least 20 points was snapped at eight straight games. … Portland, which moved three games back of the eighth-place Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference, begins a five-game road trip beginning in Philadelphia on Monday. ... Detroit shot 52.6 percent overall but was only 5-of-17 from 3-point range.
