Ryan Anderson scored 24 points and Dwight Howard became the franchise leader in scoring as the Orlando Magic rebounded from the lowest-scoring output in franchise history to record a 102-83 victory over the host Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.
Orlando tallied just 56 points in Monday’s 31-point loss to the Boston Celtics, but recovered nicely to become the first opposing team to win on Indiana’s homecourt this season.
Howard's 14-point performance gave him 10,657 with the Magic, surpassing Nick Anderson (10,650) as the all-time franchise leader.
J.J. Redick added 15 points and Glen Davis scored 13 for Orlando, which became just the second team to top 100 against the Pacers this season.
Roy Hibbert had 16 points and 12 rebounds while playing with a broken nose and Danny Granger also scored 16 points for the Pacers.
Anderson hit five of Orlando’s 13 3-point baskets in a contest in which Indiana committed 19 turnovers. The Pacers are now 5-1 at home.
Orlando took control with a 15-2 run in the third quarter to take a 67-56 lead on a dunk by Davis with 2:51 left. The Pacers missed 13 consecutive field-goal attempts over a seven-minute span and were just 5-for-20 during the stanza.
Quentin Richardson’s 3-pointer gave the Magic a 91-71 lead with 4:37 remaining.
Hibbert wore a mask to protect the nose he broke during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
