Jodie Meeks led the way with 24 points and Jrue Holiday added 19 and six assists as the Philadelphia 76ers avenged one of their most embarrassing losses with a 105-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
Lou Williams chipped in 20 points off the bench for the 76ers, who got absolutely crushed, 121-76, at Chicago last month during their eight-game road trip.
Trailing 56-54 at the half, Philadelphia made its move in the third quarter, using a 12-0 spurt capped by Meeks’ 3-pointer to grab a 74-66 edge with 5:13 left in the frame. The Bulls cut it back to a four-point lead just over a minute later but the Sixers pressed ahead, finishing the quarter with a 12-4 burst to head into the final frame up, 86-74.
Chicago tried to get back into it down the stretch, pulling within 102-99 with 37 seconds left, but Andres Nocioni hit three free throws in the final 16 seconds to seal it.
Carlos Boozer finished with 31 points and 12 rebounds, and Derrick Rose added 27 points and nine assists for the Bulls.
