Dodgers 9, Mets 4: Adrian Gonzalez belted a two-run homer among his three hits as visiting Los Angeles continued its domination of New York.
Yasiel Puig had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run and Carl Crawford and Juan Uribe each had two hits and an RBI single for the Dodgers, who beat the Mets for the 10th time in 11 meetings and improved to 7-1 in their last eight at Citi Field. Josh Beckett (2-1) gave up four runs on eight hits in five-plus innings and helped himself with an RBI single.
Curtis Granderson went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and Lucas Duda added a two-run shot for New York, which absorbed its fifth defeat in six games. Rafael Montero (0-2) lasted only 4 1/3 innings in his second major-league start, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks.
After Beckett and Wilmer Flores traded run-scoring singles in the second inning, the Dodgers knocked Montero out of the game in the fifth when Gonzalez hammered a two-run homer before Matt Kemp doubled and scored on a single by Crawford. Jeurys Familia came on in relief and surrendered an RBI single to Uribe to make it 5-1.
Puig doubled and came home on Hanley Ramirez's single off Carlos Torrez in the sixth, but the Mets answered with three in the bottom of the frame on Granderson's solo homer and Duda's two-run blast to pull within 6-4. New York had the bases loaded with one out in the fifth and seventh innings but failed to score and the Dodgers put it away with three in the ninth, capped by RBI singles from Dee Gordon and Puig.
