Goran Dragic scored 21 points against his former team and Hassan Whiteside had 17 points and 10 rebounds before being ejected for the Heat, who snapped a two-game skid with their 10th straight win over the Suns. Brandon Knight had 13 points and seven assists and Markieff Morris (13 points) and Alex Len (10 points, 11 rebounds) each hit double figures before getting ejected for Phoenix.

Phoenix led 24-23 after one quarter before Dragic scored the first four points of the second quarter to give the Heat the lead for good. A Whiteside dunk made it an 18-point lead with 1:49 to play in the half, and Miami settled for a 62-48 advantage at the break.

The Suns used a 9-2 spurt to get back within single digits midway through the third and closed the gap to seven before Beasley's jumper and Johnson's layup at the buzzer made it 85-74 entering the fourth. Phoenix was within seven on three occasions in the final stanza, but Dragic and Johnson combined for 21 points over the final 7:09 as the Heat pulled away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Morris was ejected with 8:42 left in the third quarter after a flagrant 2 foul on Dragic, while Len and Whiteside were sent off after a skirmish at the 4:26 mark of the third. The two became tangled after Len fouled Whiteside on a dunk and Whiteside tackled Len at the knees before officials and players from both teams raced in to break it up. … Miami's 39 points in the second quarter marked its most in any period this season. … Wade (18,347) passed Glen Rice for 60th on the NBA's all-time scoring list and is 17 points behind Julius Erving for 59th.
