Deron Williams' go-ahead jumper with one second remaining capped a brilliant game and gave the New Jersey Nets a 107-105 victory over the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.
Williams delivered 18 points and 21 assists while Brook Lopez added 30 points and 12 rebounds as New Jersey (24-53) withstood Minnesota's fourth-quarter rally to snap a six-game skid.
Michael Beasley scored all 20 of his points in the second half and had 11 rebounds and seven assists for Minnesota (17-61), which has lost 11 consecutive games.
Beasley's jumper tied it at 105 with seven seconds to play as the Timberwolves rallied from a 13-point deficit with 8:22 remaining. But Williams hit a 14-footer, and Beasley misfired on a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Williams secured a double-double by halftime with 11 points and 11 assists while Lopez took advantage of Wolves All-Star Kevin Love's absence.
Love sat out his fifth game in the last seven with an injured groin, and Lopez eclipsed his output in the previous meeting – six points in New Jersey's 103-88 loss at Minnesota on Jan. 1 – less than midway through the first quarter.
Sasha Vujacic added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Nets. Anthony Randolph had 20 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the Timberwolves.
