Evgenii Dadonov scored in the fourth round of a shootout and the Vegas Golden Knights, despite blowing a three-goal lead in the third period, pulled out a 5-4 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday in Las Vegas.

It was the first career shootout goal in three attempts for Dadonov, who beat Anaheim goalie John Gibson with a wrist shot under his right arm. Trevor Zegras had scored in the first round for Anaheim but Nicolas Roy tied it with a backhander in the third round.

Chandler Stephenson and Nicolas Hague each had a goal and an assist and Reilly Smith and William Carrier also scored goals for Vegas, which won its second straight game. Jonathan Marchessault added two assists, and Robin Lehner made 34 saves.

Adam Henrique and Zegras each had a goal and assist, and Troy Terry and Isac Lundestrom also scored goals for Anaheim. Ryan Getzlaf picked up his sixth assist of the season on Terry's goal for his 988th career point, moving into a tie with Teemu Selanne for the most points in franchise history. Gibson finished with 38 saves as Anaheim lost its sixth game in a row (0-3-3).

Gibson was under siege for most of the first period as Vegas fired 21 shots, including an 18-1 edge over the first 12 1/2 minutes. However, the Golden Knights managed just one goal in the period. That came when Smith took a pass from William Karlsson at the blue line and broke free down the slot. Gibson stopped the first shot, but Smith knocked in the rebound at 3:30 for his second goal of the season.

The Golden Knights made it 2-0 early in the second period on Hague's one-timer from the high slot. Anaheim cut it to 2-1 at the 15:49 mark of the second when a wide-open Zegras took a pass from Sonny Milano in the slot and fired a shot past Lehner's glove side.

Vegas extended it lead to three goals early in the third period with two goals in the span of 3:11. Stephenson got the first with a forehand-to-backhand shot under Gibson's left arm at 2:45. Carrier then made it 4-1 when he took a feed from Stephenson and fired a wrist shot from the left faceoff dot past Gibson's glove side.

Anaheim battled back to tie it with three goals in a span of 5:11.

Terry extended his point streak to seven games with his fourth goal of the season on a backhand shot around Lehner at 11:18. Lundestrom cut it to 4-3 with a backhand rebound of a Hampus Lindholm shot at 15:44, and Henrique tied it just 45 seconds later when he deflected Kevin Shattenkirk's shot from the right point inside the right post.
