Sharks 2, Red Wings 0: Antti Niemi made 27 saves en route to his second shutout in as many days as host San Jose extended its winning streak to three games.
Joe Pavelski and Brent Burns scored for the Sharks, who improved to 2-0-0 on their seven-game homestand.
Niemi turned aside seven shots in the first period, nine in the second and 11 in the third for his 22nd career blanking and third this season. The Finn became the first goaltender in franchise history to post shutouts on consecutive days.
Jimmy Howard made 22 saves for the Red Wings, who had their five-game road winning streak snapped.
Pavelski opened the scoring for the second straight game, netting his 10th goal with 61 seconds remaining in the first period. After gaining possession behind the net, Pavelski made a pass attempt from near the left post that caromed off defenseman Niklas Kronwall's left skate and past Howard.
Pavelski, who has tallied in three straight contests, scored what proved to be the game-winning goal exactly one minute into Wednesday's 4-0 triumph over Anaheim.
Burns doubled the lead at 2:07 of the third. Captain Joe Thornton created a turnover in the left faceoff circle and dished the puck across the slot to Burns, who beat Howard from the bottom of the right circle.
