Brad Marchand recorded two goals and two assists for his first career four-point game and Milan Lucic also scored twice as the Boston Bruins skated to a 6-2 road triumph over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

Patrice Bergeron had a goal and two assists, Mark Recchi notched a tally and set up another and Tim Thomas made 32 saves for the Bruins, who have won six of eight overall and are 6-0-3 in their last nine road games.

Marchand forged a 1-1 tie at 9:20 of the first period with his fifth goal in eight contests and Lucic cashed in on a power-play chance less than three minutes later to put Boston in front for good. Recchi and Lucic both scored during 2-on-1 rushes late in the second for a 4-1 advantage.

Recchi's goal was the 573rd of his career, tying him with Hall of Famer Mike Bossy for 19th on the all-time list.

Bergeron made it 5-2 midway through the third with his 16th of the season and eighth in nine games. Marchand completed the scoring with a shorthanded empty-netter late in the session.

Rookie defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk had a goal and an assist while Paul Stastny also scored for the Avalanche, who have lost eight of 11 at home. Craig Anderson allowed four goals on 28 shots over two periods and Peter Budaj made 10 saves in the third.
