Balanced scoring and depth continue to be Florida State's winning formula as the No. 16 Seminoles won their fifth consecutive game, beating the visiting Miami Hurricanes 81-59 in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup in Tallahassee on Wednesday night.
M.J. Walker and reserves Sardaar Calhoun and Malik Osborne each scored 11 points to lead the Seminoles (10-2, 6-1 ACC), who won their 22nd consecutive game at home against an ACC opponent. Osborne had a double-double, collecting 10 rebounds.
Florida State had 11 players score, and seven netted at least eight points.
Miami (6-9, 2-8), short-handed again without multiple players including preseason All-ACC guard Chris Lykes, lost its third consecutive game.
The Seminoles jumped ahead 33-11 with an early 16-0 run, but Miami answered with a 9-0 run of its own keyed by sharp 3-point shooting.
The Hurricanes entered the contest shooting a dismal 25.8 percent from beyond the arc, but made 9 of their 23 3-point attempts against FSU.
Kameron McGusty, who finished with 13 points, cut Florida State's lead to single digits with a jumper with 17:40 left in the second half.
But Florida State showed its ability to quickly turn a game to its advantage on the offensive end. Four different players scored, capped by a 3-pointer from Wyatt Wilkes to extend their advantage to 18 points with 13 minutes left.
Isaiah Wong led Miami with a game-high 21 points on 6-for-16 shooting to go along with three assists and three steals.
Anthony Walker returned to the Hurricanes lineup after missing their previous game with a foot injury and totaled 13 points.
But Florida State crushed Miami on the boards. The Seminoles outrebounded the Hurricanes 45-23 and 15-7 on the offensive glass. RaiQuan Gray paced the effort with a game-high 11 rebounds and scored 10 points.
FSU continued its sharp shooting overall, finishing 32-for-62 from the field (51.6 percent) and held Miami to 37 percent (20-for-54) overall.
