Florida State 85, Maryland 61: Ian Miller totaled 20 points and led a historic 3-point barrage by the host Seminoles in ACC play.
Miller struck for 6-of-8 from 3-point range for Florida State (11-4, 2-1), which connected on 16-of-24 from beyond the arc - the highest total against a conference opponent in program history and the third-most overall. Okaro White finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, Aaron Thomas tallied 14 points and Montay Brandon chipped in with 13 points and eight boards for the Seminoles, who have won two in a row and six of their last seven.
Dez Wells' 15 points led the offense for Maryland (10-7, 2-2), which shot 33.3 percent from the field. Nick Faust turned in a 14-point performance and Jake Layman added 11 for the Terrapins, who couldn't match Florida State's proficiency with the 3-pointer, connecting on just 3-of-18 from long range.
Miller led the Seminoles to a 42-22 lead at halftime, scoring 17 points and hitting on 5-of-6 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes as Florida State eclipsed its previous season-high of nine 3s by intermission. Maryland's struggles from the field began early as the Terrapins shot 28.6 percent in the first half.
After the break, Maryland pulled to within 16 but wouldn't get closer. The Seminoles maintained a lead of more than 20 points for the better part of the second half, coasting to the final buzzer.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida State won its fourth straight game in the series, evening their home record against the Terrapins at 10-10. ... The 24-point margin of victory was the largest for the Seminoles against Maryland. ... Florida State shot 9-of-43 from 3-point range in its previous three games.
