Florida State 66, Maryland 62: Okaro White tied a career-high with 20 points and the visiting Seminoles ended the Terrapins' 13-game winning streak.
White helped rally Florida State (10-5, 2-0 ACC) from a 12-point first-half deficit by scoring 15 straight points in the second half. Michael Snaer added 15 points for the Seminoles, who won despite shooting 36.7 percent.
Alex Len led Maryland (13-2, 1-1) with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Nick Faust added 14 and Sean Allen chipped in 13 for the Terrapins, who were trying to match the school record for consecutive wins set in 1931-32.
Florida State trailed by nine at halftime but Snear scored five points in a 12-2 run that made it a one-point game at 43-42 with 13 minutes later. White then took over, scoring most of his points in the low post to give the Seminoles a 57-51 lead while Maryland went nearly scoreless for nearly seven minutes.
Maryland rallied late by scoring eight straight points and was within 62-61 after Faust made a 3-pointer. After Snear hit a free throw, he and White blocked a jumper by Allen to seal the win.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida State snapped an eight-game losing streak in College Park dating back to 2001. ... Maryland shot just 36.7 percent and was 10-of-32 in the second half. ... White was 7-for-13 from the field while Snear was 5-for-8.
