Kings 2, Sabres 0: Jonathan Quick turned aside all 19 shots he faced in his 300th career game and Mike Richards collected a power-play goal and an assist as host Los Angeles recorded its fourth win in five contests.

Anze Kopitar also tallied with the man advantage for his third goal in as many games. Defenseman Jake Muzzin notched his fourth assist in three contests for the Kings, who have won six of their last nine games.

Quick secured his 26th career shutout and first this season by stopping seven shots in both the first and third periods and five in the second.

With Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers serving an interference penalty, Los Angeles opened the scoring with 36 seconds remaining in the first period. Muzzin unleashed a blast from the point that was deflected home by Richards, who gained inside position on blue-liner Jamie McBain. The tally was Richards' fourth of the season and second in as many games.

Drew Stafford's slashing penalty put the Kings back on the power play in the second, and Kopitar and defenseman Drew Doughty exchanged feeds before the former's one-timer beat Jhonas Enroth (26 saves) at 12:18.
