J.R. Smith and Chris Copeland each chipped in 17 points off the bench for the Knicks, who maintained a 2 1/2-game cushion over Indiana for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference while winning their first Atlantic Division title since 1993-94.

John Wall scored 33 points and Cartier Martin added 16 off the bench for Washington, which has lost two straight and three of four.

New York controlled things from the outset, as the Knicks never trailed and broke out to a 17-8 lead with an 8-0 spurt. They were up 36-23 after Copeland's buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the first and extended it to 58-43 by halftime.

The Wizards didn't get closer than 13 in the second half, as New York stayed hot from 3-point range, finishing 20-for-36 from beyond the arc to tie a franchise record for made 3-pointers.
