Canucks 3, Blackhawks 1: Daniel Sedin recorded a goal and an assist to become the second-leading scorer in franchise history as host Vancouver clinched its fifth consecutive Northwest Division title.
Jannik Hansen and Zack Kassian also scored, captain Henrik Sedin notched two assists and Cory Schneider made 24 saves for the Canucks, who have won eight in a row at home.
Daniel Carcillo tallied and Corey Crawford turned aside 29 shots for the Blackhawks, who had their 11-game point streak snapped (9-1-2). Chicago's lead over Pittsburgh in the race for the Presidents' Trophy is down to three points with three games remaining.
Hansen opened the scoring during a power play with 5:32 remaining in the first period as he deflected defenseman Jason Garrison's one-timer from the right point past Crawford. Daniel Sedin set up Kassian on the doorstep from behind the net at 11:37 of the second before beating Crawford with a backhand shot during a breakaway with 44 seconds left in the period to make it 3-0.
Carcillo spoiled Schneider's shutout bid with 8:10 to go in the third. A clearing attempt from behind the net caromed off the referee and directly to Carcillo, who backhanded the puck past the goaltender for his second goal.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Daniel Sedin's assist on Kassian's goal moved him past Markus Naslund for second place on the Canucks' all-time scoring list. His goal gave him 758 career points. ...
