Senators 3, Rangers 0: Ben Bishop recorded his second career shutout after turning aside all 24 shots he faced to make Andre Benoit's power-play goal stand up as host Ottawa posted its sixth victory in seven outings.
Guillaume Latendresse scored for the fourth time in six contests and Colin Greening sealed the win with an empty-net goal. Mika Zibanejad and Chris Neil each registered a pair of assists for the Senators, who completed their first season sweep of the Rangers since 2002-03.
Bishop preserved his first shutout in 2013 with a point-blank save on defenseman Ryan McDonagh midway through the third period. The towering goaltender improved to 3-0-0 lifetime versus New York after stopping four shots in the first period and 10 in each of the final two sessions.
Ottawa made New York pay after defenseman Anton Stralman went to the penalty box for tripping late in the second period. Benoit unleashed a blast from the point which deflected off the stick of Derek Stepan and sailed past a screened Henrik Lundqvist with 49 seconds left in the session.
Latendresse doubled the advantage with 7:44 remaining in the third by firing a wrist shot from the slot past Lundqvist. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner finished with 26 saves for the Rangers, who have dropped three of their last four contests (1-2-1).
