Jay Feely kicked a 28-field goal in overtime as the host Arizona Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak against their NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks with a 23-20 win Sunday.
Quarterback John Skelton finished 22 for 40 for 271 yards with a touchdown and interception to help Arizona (8-8) win for the fifth time in six games.
Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who made a diving one-handed catch to help put the Cards in field goal range, had nine catches for 149 yards.
Tarvaris Jackson hit Ricardo Lockette for a 61-yard touchdown pass with 7 1/2 minutes left in the fourth quarter to pull the Seahawks (7-9) into a tie. It was the longest TD pass of the season for Jackson.
Arizona took a 20-13 lead in the third quarter when Skelton hit tight end Todd Heap for a 13-yard TD on third-and-inches. Skelton was 6-for-6 for 70 yards on the eight-play, 80-yard drive, highlighted by a spectacular 22-yard, one-handed grab by Fitzgerald.
Seattle running back Leon Washington tied the game at 10 earlier in the third quarter with a 48-yard TD dash. It was Washington’s longest run and first rushing TD of the season.
Feely’s 41-yarder in the second quarter was set up by Patrick Peterson’s 42-yard punt return, giving him 695 yards to set an NFL record for rookies.
Chester Taylor made a 1-yard leap to open the scoring for the Cardinals. It was Arizona’s first TD in the first quarter since Week 2.
