UNC Wilmington is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 10 years after winning the Colonial Athletic Association championship Monday.
The second-seeded Seahawks edged top-seeded Hofstra 80-73 in overtime at Baltimore.
C.J. Bryce's three-point play with 1:20 left in the extra session gave UNC Wilmington the lead for good at 76-73. Seahawks guard Denzel Ingram sank a 3-pointer with 34 seconds left, and Bryce hit one of two free throws with 22 seconds remaining to close the scoring.
The Pride failed to score in the final 1:36 after Rokas Gustys' dunk tied the game.
Craig Ponder paced the Seahawks (25-7) with 20 points. Chris Flemmings added 19 points, and Ingram had 17 points and six assists.
Hofstra (24-9) got 24 points from Ameen Tanksley, while Gustys contributed 18 points and 23 rebounds. Juan'ya Green finished with 13 points despite hitting only two of 15 shots from the floor. He also had eight assists.
