No. 3 Virginia 69, Virginia Tech 57: Malcolm Brogdon recorded 19 points and eight rebounds as the host Cavaliers clinched at least a share of their second straight ACC regular-season title.

Anthony Gill scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half for Virginia (27-1, 15-1), which needs one win or a Duke loss to claim the crown outright. Darion Atkins also registered 16 points and London Perrantes returned from a one-game layoff to contribute 11 on 4-of-4 shooting - including three 3-pointers.

Adam Smith led Virginia Tech (10-19, 2-14) with 19 points and Ahmed Hill added 10. Malik Muller was 3-of-3 from beyond the arc en route to nine points for the Hokies, who have lost five straight overall and fell to 0-11 on the road.

Muller hit two early 3-pointers to spark a game-opening 9-3 run and the Hokies did not trail until Brogdon made two free throws to put the hosts up 19-17 with under six minutes left in the first half. Two more foul shots by Brogdon put the Cavaliers ahead 28-24 at halftime, and his layup capped an 11-0 run early in the second half that pushed the advantage to 46-33.

Smith and Muller hit 3-pointers and Satchel Pierce a pair of free throws during a cold stretch for Virginia to slice the deficit to four before Brogdon hit a shot from beyond the arc and Perrantes scored off a turnover to make it 55-46 with six minutes to play. Evan Nolte added two free throws moments later and then sank a 3-pointer as the Cavaliers opened it up, leading by as many as 16 after back-to-back dunks by Atkins in the closing moments.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Hokies and Texas Tech are the only power conference teams winless on the road this season. ... Perrantes, who had been out with a broken nose and a concussion suffered in a collision with Brogdon, dished out a game-high six assists. ... Virginia has won seven straight meetings in the all-time series.
