Michigan 64, No. 23 Ohio State 57: Spike Albrecht recorded 16 points, five assists and four rebounds as the Wolverines led from start to finish against the visiting Buckeyes.

Zak Irvin added 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Michigan (14-13, 7-8 Big Ten), which snapped a five-game losing skid. Ricky Doyle tallied eight points and Max Bielfeldt had seven points and seven rebounds for the Wolverines, who committed only nine turnovers.

D'Angelo Russell led the way with 16 points and Keita Bates-Diop had 12 off the bench for Ohio State (19-8, 8-6), which has dropped six of its nine road games this season. Sam Thompson chipped in 11 points and Amir Williams corralled a game-high eight rebounds for the Buckeyes.

Russell converted a three-point play, connected from beyond the arc and scored at the rim as part of a 14-0 surge to pull Ohio State within 49-46 before Irvin drained a 3-pointer to end a seven-plus minute scoring drought for Michigan. Irvin's acrobatic layup gave the Wolverines some breathing room at 58-50 and Albrecht sank two free throws to restore Michigan's double-digit advantage and clinch its fourth win in the last five meetings with the Buckeyes.

Irvin and Albrecht buried back-to-back 3-pointers to put Michigan in front 15-6 and Kameron Chatman scored six points as part of a 16-4 run to push the margin to 31-11. Irvin led all scorers with 10 points in the opening stanza as the Wolverines shot 53.1 percent to take a commanding 39-23 lead into the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Michigan went 7-of-19 from 3-point range while Ohio State finished 5-of-19 . … Albrecht went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line and is 32-of-34 in Ben Ten play. … Russell became the fifth Ohio State freshman to score more than 500 points in a single season.
