No. 4 Wisconsin 81, Northwestern 58: Frank Kaminsky contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while Sam Dekker sank four 3-pointers while also scoring 16 points as the visiting Badgers routed the Wildcats.
Duje Dukan scored 14 points off the bench as Wisconsin (14-1, 2-0 Big Ten) defeated Northwestern for the 13th time in the last 15 meetings. Nigel Hayes added 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting for the Badgers, who were 12-for-25 from 3-point range.
Tre Demps recorded 17 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats (10-5, 1-1), who were 8-for-28 from the field in the first half and ended at 39.3 percent. Bryant McIntosh scored 13 points for Northwestern, which was 4-for-14 from beyond the arc.
Wisconsin never trailed and Dukan knocked down a 3-pointer to culminate an 8-0 burst and make it 22-9 less than eight minutes into the contest. Another 3-pointer by Dukan made it 30-13 with 8:21 to play in the half and the Badgers sailed into the break with a 43-21 lead.
Dekker’s basket pushed the advantage to 27 points with 12:29 to play. The lead topped out at 28 as Wisconsin continued its strong season.
