Maryland 83, Florida State 71: Seth Allen had a career day, setting personal bests with 32 points on 11-of-15 shooting, including 7-of-10 3-pointers, as the host Terrapins turned away the Seminoles in ACC play.

Dez Wells added 15 points and a game-high six assists for Maryland (14-10, 6-5), which broke a tie with Florida State in the conference standings with the win. Jake Layman contributed 12 points and five rebounds and Allen added four boards, two assists and two steals to his stat line for the Terrapins, who had lost five of eight coming in.

Michael Ojo converted a layup and a dunk on consecutive possessions to open the second half as Florida State trimmed a 17-point halftime deficit to 46-33. The Terrapins responded by doubling up the Seminoles in a 14-7 spurt, led by five points from Wells, to push the lead to its widest margin at 60-40 with 11:09 remaining.

Bookert and Montay Brandon each tallied seven points as part of a late push from Florida State that saw Maryland's lead cut to 73-65 with 2:09 to play. Allen saw to it that there would be no miracle comeback, putting the dagger in the Seminoles with his seventh 3-pointer of the day to restore a double-digit advantage for the Terrapins.

Florida State opened the game with a 3-pointer from Thomas, but that strike was answered by an 8-2 Maryland run and the Seminoles would never lead again. Allen drained his first four field-goal attempts as the Terrapins began to heat up, establishing a 20-15 lead on a Charles Mitchell layup near the midway point of the first half.

Less than a minute later, the Seminoles would pull to within 20-17 on a dunk from Thomas after an Allen turnover, but Maryland took control of the game from that point, answering with a 15-6 run that featured nine points from Allen, including a pair of 3-pointers. Bookert helped pull Florida State back to within eight points near the two minute mark but Allen and Layman sent the Terrapins into the locker room with a 46-29 lead, closing the half with three consecutive makes from beyond the arc.
