Southern Methodist 73, Illinois-Chicago 65: Nic Moore scored 20 points and the visiting Mustangs' bench outscored the Flames 31-10 for their first road win of the season.

Moore, a sophomore transfer from Illinois State, was 6-of-11 from the floor and hit three 3-pointers for SMU (8-2) to tie his season high for points. Markus Kennedy added 11 points and seven rebounds while Yanick Moreira also grabbed seven rebounds to go with nine points.

Kelsey Barlow, a senior transfer from Purdue who was coming off a 38-point performance, led Illinois-Chicago (3-5) with 31 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. The Flames shot only 35.1 percent from the floor but were 17-of-21 from the free-throw line and hit eight 3-pointers to stay close.

SMU never trailed, but couldn't pull away by more than nine points in the second half despite shooting 57.7 percent after the break. Moore collected 15 of his points after the intermission with Kennedy adding seven points to lift SMU to its sixth win in seven games.

The Flames shot only 38.5 percent in the first half, but were able to rally from an early 14-4 deficit behind Barlow's 14 points in the half. The Mustangs shot 50 percent overall en route to a 33-31 halftime lead, including 60 percent from beyond the arc as SMU's bench outscored Illinois-Chicago's reserves 15-5.
