Raptors 113, Timberwolves 99: Lou Williams led a balanced attack with 18 points as visiting Toronto used multiple runs to continue its dominance over Minnesota.
DeMar DeRozan scored 17 points and Terrence Ross added 16 for the Raptors, who moved into a tie with the Chicago Bulls for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference with seven games remaining. Jonas Valanciunas chipped in 15 points and Greivis Vasquez added four 3-pointers and 14 points as Toronto shot 13-of-30 from the arc.
Andrew Wiggins scored 25 points for the Timberwolves, who have lost five straight and 12 of 14 games. Zach LaVine added 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting and Chase Budinger added 19 off the bench as Minnesota lost for the eighth straight time in the series and for the 20th time in the last 21 meetings.
Minnesota scored seven of the first eight points of the contest, but the Raptors canned five 3-pointers to take a 31-27 edge after one. Vasquez drilled two 3-pointers plus a third hoop and Williams and James Johnson drained shots from the arc as the Raptors opened the second quarter with a 19-4 blitz to take a 50-31 lead with 6:09 left in the half.
The lead was 14 at the break before Valanciunas scored four hoops and Ross added seven points during a 17-4 spurt to open the third quarter. Minnesota closed within 86-69 entering the fourth, but Vasquez kicked off a 22-8 run to start the fourth with a 3-pointer as Toronto coasted to victory.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Raptors G Kyle Lowry didn't play, missing his sixth game in his last seven with a sore back. … Vasquez shot 5-of-6 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from the arc, after connecting on just 3-of-14 field goals in his last two games. … LaVine had three assists against seven turnovers.
