The Kings took a 65-54 lead into the half but the Lakers came out on fire after the break and pulled within 75-71 after back-to-back 3-pointers from Meeks. Sacramento would spread it back out to a 13-point gap before Farmar and Brooks took control, combining for 21 points and five 3-pointers over the final 4:41 of the period to send Los Angeles into the fourth trailing 99-95.
Brooks knotted it at 105 with a 3-pointer and Farmar gave the Lakers their first lead of the second half with a triple on next possession. Brooks’ three-point play with 4:26 left pushed the lead to 118-114, and his basket with 39 seconds left helped Los Angeles put the game away.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Lakers set their previous franchise high with 18 3-pointers in a 119-108 win at Cleveland on Feb. 5, which also marked the team’s previous high-scoring contest of the season. … Pau Gasol added 22 points, six assists and five rebounds and Kendall Marshall handed out 10 assists in 19 scoreless minutes for Los Angeles. … Cousins, who was suspended one game for punching Houston’s Patrick Beverley, is expected back on Saturday.
