Heat 93, Bulls 79: Chris Bosh had 28 points and 10 rebounds as host Miami rolled past Chicago despite being without injured LeBron James.
Dwyane Wade added 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and Mario Chalmers contributed 12 points and nine assists as the Heat won their fifth straight game and coach Erik Spoelstra became the sixth-fastest coach in NBA history to reach 300 career victories. Joakim Noah had 20 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots and Taj Gibson added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls, who had a five-game winning streak halted. The Bulls had a 50-49 lead with 5:20 left in the third quarter before Miami erupted for 11 straight points, capped by Ray Allen’s driving hoop with 2:10 remaining. The lead was 65-52 entering the fourth quarter and expanded to 16 when Michael Beasley drained a 3-pointer to begin the final stanza.
Allen connected on a 3-pointer and Wade followed with a layup as the Heat stretched the lead to 75-56 with 8:22 left. The Bulls made a push and crept within 11 but four straight points by Bosh, a 3-pointer by Chalmers and Wade’s basket allowed Miami to build the lead back up to 18 with 2:43 left as Chicago finished with the fewest points by a Miami opponent this season.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami C Greg Oden had five points and five rebounds in 13 minutes while making his first start since Dec. 5, 2009 for Portland … Bulls G Jimmy Butler (rib) sat out due to an injury he suffered in Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets. … The Heat committed just eight turnovers to help compensate for a 51-41 rebounding disadvantage.
