Nuggets 120, Magic 94: Randy Foye and Evan Fournier each recorded 18 points to lead seven players in double figures as Denver rolled over visiting Orlando for its fifth consecutive victory.
Kenneth Faried finished with 17 points and Ty Lawson had 16 for the Nuggets, who made 12 from 3-point range – their franchise-record fourth straight game with at least a dozen. Quincy Miller had 16 points and 11 rebounds while J.J. Hickson added 13 and 10, respectively, for Denver.
Tobias Harris had a season-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Glen Davis scored 20 for Orlando, which lost its seventh straight contest. Victor Oladipo added 15 points for the Magic, who were without their two leading scorers Arron Afflalo and Nikola Vucevic due to injuries.
Orlando was within three in the first quarter before Lawson scored five during a 12-0 run and Denver settled for a nine-point advantage going into the second. Lawson and Nate Robinson opened the second quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers and the Nuggets broke it open, taking a 69-47 lead at intermission.
Davis helped the Magic trim their deficit to 16 in the third quarter but Foye scored the first five in a 10-0 run as Denver pulled away again. The Nuggets finished with a 50-40 edge on the boards and shot 50.6 percent from the field, including 12-of-28 from beyond the 3-point arc.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Denver C Timofey Mozgov chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench. … Magic G Jameer Nelson, who scored 10 points, left in the third quarter with an apparent hand injury. Afflalo is out with a strained right foot, sustained in the loss at Sacramento on Friday, and Vucevic missed his third consecutive contest with a concussion. … Denver F Wilson Chandler, the team’s second-leading scorer, was held out for the second straight game with a groin injury.
