Randal Grichuk hit two solo home runs and had four RBIs for the Blue Jays, who completed a three-game sweep of the interleague series and have won seven straight home games.

The Nationals tied the game in the top of the eighth against Tyler Clippard on a single by Juan Soto, a wild pitch, and Brian Goodwin's RBI single. The Nationals loaded the bases on a walk and an infield single against Ryan Tepera (4-2) but Bryce Harper flied out to end the threat.

Hernandez hit his 12th homer of the season with one out in the bottom of the eighth and Solarte followed with his 15th against Madson (1-3), who had entered the game for the inning.

Michael A. Taylor had three singles and four stolen bases for the Nationals.

Toronto starter Sam Gaviglio allowed three runs (two earned), six hits, two walks and a balk while striking out six in four innings.

Washington starter Tanner Roark allowed four runs, eight hits and two walks and struck out two in four innings.

The Nationals scored twice in the second. Taylor singled, stole second, took third on a groundout and scored on Wilmer Difo's single. After stealing second, Difo took third on a catcher's error on a pickoff attempt and scored on a balk.

Grichuk homered with two out in the bottom of the second.

The Nationals regained the two-run lead in the third when Anthony Rendon doubled and scored on Daniel Murphy's single.

The Blue Jays tied the game in the bottom of the third. Solarte and Kendrys Morales singled and Kevin Pillar followed with an RBI double. Walks to Russell Martin and Grichuk forced in another run.

Toronto took the lead in the fourth, Devon Travis led off with a single. Curtis Granderson grounded to shortstop to force him at second and Hernandez was hit by a pitch. Solarte's groundout moved the runners to second and third and Morales hit an RBI single to shortstop Trea Turner.

Grichuk hit his seventh homer of the season in the fifth against Shawn Kelley and Toronto led 5-3.

Toronto's Joe Biagini, who had a perfect fifth, allowed an infield single in the sixth to Taylor, who stole second and scored on Goodwin's double. Seunghwan Oh took over with runners at the corners and one out after Difo's single. Pinch hitter Adam Eaton tied the game with an RBI double with Difo thrown out at third on the play.

After John Axford pitched a perfect top of the seventh, Pillar started the bottom of the inning with a single against Justin Miller, stole second, reached third when Martin flied out and scored on Grichuk's single.
