Cardinals 5, Blue Jays 0: Shelby Miller carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before pitching a three-hitter and rookie Randal Grichuk hit his first career home run as visiting St. Louis cooled off Toronto.

Tony Cruz delivered a two-run single while Grichuk also had two RBIs to help the Cardinals win for the third time in their last 11 games. Miller (7-5), who retired the first 13 batters, snapped a three-game losing streak while striking out five and walking one in his first complete game of the season and second of his career.

The Blue Jays' Mark Buehrle (10-2) had his three-start winning streak snapped after matching a season high with five walks while striking out six and allowing one run and five hits in seven innings in losing for the first time in seven decisions. Toronto had its six-game winning streak halted and lost for the third time in 18 contests.

Grichuk drove the first pitch he saw over the wall in center with one out in the fifth to give St. Louis a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals broke it open with four runs in the eighth as Mark Ellis and Grichuk each walked with the bases loaded, sandwiched around Cruz's line-drive single up the middle against reliever Aaron Loup which plated two.

Jose Reyes broke up the no-hitter with a single to right with two out in the sixth and Melky Cabrera (two hits) followed with a double off the glove of first baseman Allen Craig and into short right field before Miller struck out Jose Bautista to end the threat. Adam Lind broke up the perfect game in the fifth when he walked with one out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. Louis left 11 men on base and leads the National League at 7.6 per game. ... The Blue Jays have been in first place for 17 consecutive days - their longest run since 1993, when they last won the World Series. ... Toronto was shut out for only the second time this season and first time in 48 games.
