Yankees 7, White Sox 4 (10): Brian McCann belted a pinch-hit three-run homer with two outs in the 10th inning as host New York completed a three-game series sweep of Chicago.

After inducing Derek Jeter to hit into an inning-ending double play in the ninth, Jake Petricka (0-3) allowed Carlos Beltran to rip a two-out double in the following inning. Chase Headley was intentionally walked to set the stage for McCann, who deposited a 3-2 changeup just inside the right-field foul pole.

Ichiro Suzuki slapped a two-run single and David Huff (3-1) struck out two in the 10th for the Yankees, who have won four in a row and six of eight to remain within 3 1/2 games of Seattle for the second wild card in the American League. David Robertson saw his string of 22 consecutive successful save opportunities come to a halt after Avisail Garcia homered to lead off the ninth.

Conor Gillaspie belted a two-run homer and Alexei Ramirez went deep to lead off the contest for the White Sox, who have dropped a season-high six consecutive games overall and eight straight in the Bronx. Chris Sale permitted four runs (all unearned) on as many hits in six innings to receive a no-decision.

After a pair of blasts staked Chicago to a 3-0 lead, White Sox left fielder Dayan Viciedo dropped a lazy fly ball in the sixth. Mark Teixeira ripped a shot down the left-field line to plate Martin Prado and Sale drilled Zelous Wheeler with the bases loaded before Suzuki's single to right scored Beltran and Francisco Cervelli to give New York a 4-3 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago's Paul Konerko was presented an autographed base by Jeter prior to playing his final contest at Yankee Stadium. Both captains have announced that they will retire at the end of the season. ... Ramirez opened the scoring by sending an 0-1 sinker from LHP Chris Capuano into the first row of seats in left field for his 12th homer - and first since Aug. 2. Gillaspie pushed the advantage to 3-0 by blasting Capuano's 2-0 sinker over the wall in right for a two-run shot in the sixth. ... The Yankees visit Kansas City for a make-up game on Monday before opening a three-game set in Detroit on Tuesday. Chicago begins a seven-game homestand on Tuesday by hosting Cleveland for the first of three contests.
