Marlins 2, Phillies 0: Rookie Jose Fernandez allowed one hit in seven innings to earn his first major-league victory and rookie Marcell Ozuna hit his first career home run as Miami snapped a five-game losing streak in Philadelphia.
Fernandez (1-2) allowed a one-out single to Freddy Galvis in the first inning and retired the next 17 Phillies in a row before walking Galvis to lead off the seventh. The 20-year-old Cuban struck out a career-high nine - including Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Delmon Young in the seventh.
Chris Valaika also hit a solo home run, Mike Dunn pitched a perfect eighth inning and Steve Cishek worked around a one-walk in the ninth to finish the one-hitter and earn his fourth save. Cole Hamels (1-4) yielded two runs and four hits in eight innings for the Phillies, who were shut out for the fifth time this season.
Ozuna, who was called up to replace the injured Giancarlo Stanton in right field, drove the first pitch of the second inning into the left-field seats. The 22-year-old native of the Dominican Republic is 7-for-18 in his first five major-league games.
Valaika hit Hamels' 1-0 offering over the wall in left-center with one out in the third inning for his first home run of the season and second of his career.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Fernandez has allowed three hits in 13 shutout innings against Philadelphia this season. ... The Marlins, who snapped a three-game losing streak, have scored a major league-low 84 runs in 31 games. ...
