Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a bases-loaded double in the first inning and added an RBI single in the fifth as the Colorado Rockies withstood another comeback attempt by the Dodgers to defeat host Los Angeles 7-6 on Sunday.
Los Angeles erased a 1-0 deficit and went on to win Friday by scoring six runs in the seventh. The next day, the Dodgers rallied for five runs in the sixth to take a 5-4 lead and ultimately post an 11-inning triumph.
The Dodgers scored twice in both the sixth and seventh Sunday but came up short as their five-game winning streak was halted.
Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 15 games for Colorado, which had lost six of seven on the road. Gonzalez did not drive in a run, however, ending his team record of consecutive contests with at least one RBI at 11.
Kouzmanoff highlighted a five-run uprising against rookie Nathan Eovaldi (1-2) in the first. He made it 7-2 in the fifth with a single that plated Seth Smith, who delivered an RBI double earlier in the inning.
Jhoulys Chacin (11-10), who had allowed one earned run over 21 innings in three starts against the Dodgers this season, yielded four runs over five-plus innings. Chacin exited after walking the bases loaded in the sixth.
Rafael Betancourt worked a perfect ninth for his fourth save after blowing his fourth opportunity Saturday.
Tony Gwynn Jr. and Justin Sellers each had two hits and an RBI for the Dodgers, who played without Andre Ethier (sore right knee).
