Manny Machado hit two of Los Angeles' five home runs to back a strong start by rookie Walker Buehler as the Dodgers defeated the host Seattle Mariners 11-1 Friday night in the opener of a three-game interleague series.

Yasmani Grandal, Max Muncy and Matt Kemp also went deep for the Dodgers, who won their second in a row after a five-game losing streak. The Dodgers lead the National League with 169 home runs this season.

Buehler (6-4), a right-hander, allowed one run on three hits in six innings. He walked two and tied his career high with eight strikeouts.

The only run Buehler allowed was on Ryon Healy's solo homer in the fourth inning. The ball bounced off the top of the right field wall and into the seats for Healy's 23rd home run of the season.

That pulled the Mariners within 4-1, but the Dodgers added three runs in the fifth and four in the seventh to pull away.

Mariners left-hander Wade LeBlanc (7-3) lasted just 4 1/3 innings. He allowed seven runs (five earned) on seven hits, with two walks and four strikeouts.

Grandal led off the third inning with his 21st homer. The Dodgers scored three in the fourth as Machado hit a solo shot and Muncy added a two-run homer, his 27th.

The Dodgers scored three more in the fifth, thanks to a run-scoring single by Cody Bellinger, a two-base fielding error by Seattle right fielder Mitch Haniger and a sacrifice fly by Enrique Hernandez.

The Dodgers flexed their muscles again in the seventh as Machado hit a two-run homer, his 28th, off right-hander Christian Bergman, and Kemp added a two-run shot, his 18th, to straightaway center field.

Mariners utility man Andrew Romine pitched a hitless ninth, allowing only a two-out walk to Kemp.

Dee Gordon started at shortstop for Seattle as All-Star Jean Segura was placed on paternity leave before the game.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig didn't play despite being eligible. Puig appealed his two-game suspension that was to have started Friday for sparking a bench-clearing incident earlier in the week against San Francisco. Puig will be able to play until his appeal is heard.
