Bryan Reynolds went 2-for-4 with a three-run triple Sunday as the Pittsburgh Pirates hung on to beat the visiting Cincinnati Reds 9-8 for a three-game series sweep.
Kevin Newman was 4-for-4 with an RBI single and three runs scored, and Jose Osuna and Starling Marte each had RBI doubles for Pittsburgh.
Kyle Farmer, Josh VanMeter and Eugenio Suarez homered for Cincinnati.
Pittsburgh rookie starter Dario Agrazal (3-3) pitched five innings, giving up four runs and seven hits. Felipe Vazquez gave up a homer but got a four-out save, his 23rd of the season.
Cincinnati starter Trevor Bauer (10-11) lasted only three innings, allowing eight runs, seven of them earned, and eight hits.
In the first, VanMeter and Freddy Galvis started the game with walks. An out later, Aristides Aquino and Jose Iglesias hit back-to-back base hits for a 2-0 Reds lead. Curt Casali's sacrifice fly later made it 3-0.
In the bottom of the first, Newman doubled. Reynolds singled, and center fielder Phillip Ervin's throwing error allowed Newman to score and Reynolds to go to third. Josh Bell's sacrifice fly made it 3-2.
The Pirates took the lead in the second. Osuna walked and an out later, Elias Diaz singled. Agrazal bunted them to second and third, and Bauer loaded the bases by hitting Newman. Reynolds' triple cleared the bases, making it 5-3.
In the third, Colin Moran doubled and scored on Osuna's double. After Adam Frazier walked, Diaz's infield single loaded the bases for Agrazal, who lined into a forceout to produce his first career RBI. Newman followed with an RBI base hit to make it 8-3.
The Reds cut it to 8-4 in the fifth. Iglesias singled, moved to third on Derek Dietrich's double and scored on Casali's groundout. Cincinnati sliced the deficit further to 8-5 in the sixth when Farmer led off with a homer to left, his eighth.
In the eighth, VanMeter's two-run homer to right, his fifth, ended up in the Allegheny River and closed it to 8-7.
Newman singled, stole second and scored on Marte's double in the bottom of the eight for a 9-7 lead.
Suarez led off the ninth with his 35th homer to close it to 9-8.
