Colin Moran's pinch-hit grand slam and a three-run shot by Josh Bell staked the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 14-0 win Saturday over the visiting Cincinnati Reds.
Trevor Williams (6-6) pitched six innings, with an inning each from Richard Rodriguez, Kyle Crick and Parker Markel, in the seven-hit shutout to hand the Reds their second straight loss.
Starling Marte had a two-run double, Bryan Reynolds hit an RBI double, and Jose Osuna, Adam Frazier and Kevin Newman each added an RBI single for Pittsburgh, which had scored 10 runs combined over its previous seven games.
Williams allowed three hits -- all singles, two of them by opposing starter Alex Wood -- with three strikeouts and one walk. He bounced back from a nightmare outing Monday, when he gave up eight runs, six earned, in two innings against Washington in a 13-0 loss.
Williams is 5-0 in his past six starts against the Reds.
Wood (1-3) allowed just two hits over 5 1/3 innings but walked three, hit a batter and was charged with five runs, four of them earned. He struck out one.
In the Pirates' third, Jacob Stallings opened with a single to left. After Erik Gonzalez flied out, Williams' sacrifice bunt got Stallings to second. Newman walked. Reynolds doubled to right to drive in Stallings, and first baseman Derek Dietrich flubbed the relay throw, the error allowing Newman to score, too, for a 2-0 lead.
Newman got things going in the sixth with a walk. Reynolds also walked. Marte bounced into a fielder's choice. Wood hit Bell to load the bases, and then gave way to reliever Lucas Sims.
Osuna's infield hit drove in Newman to make it 3-0. Moran launched his fourth career grand slam, and 12th homer this year, to right for a 7-0 lead.
In the seventh, Reynolds singled with two outs and reliever Kevin Gausman hit Marte. Bell followed with his 32nd homer, to left, to make it 10-0 and put Bell over the 100-RBI mark, at 102.
Frazier added a pinch-hit RBI single, Newman drove in another with a single and Marte doubled in two more in the eighth to push it to 14-0.
