Kohl Stewart didn't give up an earned run in six innings of relief, and the Minnesota Twins took command with a four-run fourth and downed the host Detroit Tigers 6-1 on Monday night.

Gabriel Moya started for the Twins and pitched a scoreless inning. Stewart (2-1) then entered and allowed only an unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out five.

Minnesota's Eddie Rosario homered before leaving the game with a right quad injury. Jorge Polanco supplied two hits, including a solo homer.

Jake Cave, Ehire Adrianza and Joe Mauer had run-scoring hits in the decisive fourth for Minnesota (68-81), which has won eight of 14 games against Detroit (61-89) this season. Logan Forsythe reached base three times and scored a run.

Nicholas Castellanos had three hits and a walk and scored the lone Detroit run. Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (7-8) gave up five runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The Twins took the lead on Rosario's two-out shot in the first that landed in the bullpen beyond the left field wall, his 24th home run this season.

Zimmermann couldn't get out of the fourth inning as Minnesota extended its lead to 5-0. Robbie Grossman dropped a ground-rule double inside the left field line to get the outburst started. Cave knocked him in with a single. Forsythe also singled, and one out later, Adrianza smacked a hit to bring home Cave.

Willians Astudillo's RBI groundout plated Forsythe, and Mauer's single drove in Adrianza.

The Tigers got one run back in the bottom of the inning when Castellanos walked and scored when Jim Adduci hit a one-out single and left fielder Rosario made a throwing error. Rosario injured his leg on the play and left the game.

Detroit had a threat going in the eighth with runners on the corners and two outs, but Adduci fouled out to third against Tyler Duffey.

Polanco ripped his sixth homer to right against Alex Wilson in the ninth after another long ball just went foul moments earlier.
