Juan Rivera’s sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning scored Dee Gordon for the winning run as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 2-1 on Saturday for their sixth straight victory.
Gordon led off the inning with a double off reliever Anthony Varvaro (0-1) and went to third on James Loney’s sacrifice bunt before Rivera’s line drive to center field gave the Dodgers the lead.
Mike MacDougal (2-1) got the final out of the ninth with two runners for the victory. Javy Guerra pitched a perfect 10th inning for his 15th save in 16 chances.
Loney had two sacrifice bunts, doubling his career total, and two hits for Los Angeles, which has won 11 of 12.
Catcher A.J. Ellis belted his second career home run in the top of the second to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. Dan Uggla answered with his 32nd homer in the bottom of the inning for the Braves.
Braves starter Mike Minor allowed six hits and one run over six innings, striking out seven.
Los Angeles starter Nate Eovaldi went six innings, giving up three hits and one run. He struck out five.
