White Sox 4, Astros 2: Dayan Viciedo highlighted a four-run sixth inning with a three-run triple as visiting Chicago salvaged the finale of the four-game series.
Paul Konerko added an RBI single while Conor Gillaspie recorded two hits and scored a run for the White Sox, who halted a four-game overall skid and posted just their second victory in 14 road contests.
Jason Castro gave Houston a 2-0 lead with RBI doubles in the first and third innings. But Konerko got Chicago on the board in the sixth, when he plated Alejandro De Aza with an infield single, and Viciedo followed Gillaspie's infield hit with a bases-clearing triple just out of the reach of diving center fielder Brandon Barnes.
Nate Jones (3-4) picked up the win in relief of Jose Quintana, who yielded two runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings. Addison Reed worked a perfect ninth for his 20th save in 22 opportunities.
Bud Norris (5-7) surrendered four runs and eight hits over six innings for the Astros, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Barnes was Houston's offensive star, collecting three hits, two stolen bases and a run scored.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Castro went 5-for-12 with two home runs and five RBIs in the series. ... Quintana is winless in five starts since defeating the Boston Red Sox on May 21. ... Houston failed to complete its second four-game sweep in two weeks. The Astros captured all four meetings with the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim from May 31-June 3.
