White Sox 5, Angels 4: Adam Dunn had two hits and an RBI and Jeff Keppinger drove in the go-ahead run with his first walk of the season as visiting Chicago won the opener of the four-game series.

Alejandro De Aza also had two hits for the White Sox, reliever Jesse Crain worked a scoreless eighth for his 15th consecutive outing without allowing a run and Addison Reed completed the ninth for his 13th save. Chicago starter Jose Quintana went 6 2/3 innings, allowing four runs and six hits while walking a season-high three batters, and Matt Lindstrom (2-2) got the final out of the seventh to earn the victory.

Angels starter Jerome Williams delivered his second straight quality start, both coming against the White Sox, allowing two runs and five hits without walking a batter over six innings. Scott Downs and Dane De La Rosa combined to pitch the seventh for Los Angeles, but De La Rosa (1-1) was lifted after allowing a one-out RBI single to Adam Dunn in the eighth to tie the score at 4.

Michael Kohn then came on and got Paul Konerko to ground out but then issued three consecutive walks, the last the first in 141 plate appearances for Keppinger, which forced in Dunn for a 5-4 lead.

Quintana walked his third batter of the game with one out in the sixth, Josh Hamilton followed with a single and Howie Kendrick then hit a line drive over the head of left fielder Dayan Viciedo, who got a glove on the ball but couldn’t squeeze it, allowing both runners to score on the double for a 4-2 lead. Kendrick had two of the seven hits by the Angels.

GAME NOTEBOOK: White Sox OF Alex Rios threw out Angels C Chris Iannetta at the plate in the third inning for his 80th career assist. He is ranked third among active AL outfielders behind Torii Hunter (113) of the Detroit Tigers and Ichiro Suzuki (106) of the New York Yankees. … The White Sox came into the game with a major-league leading 903 quality starts since 2003, three more than the Angels. … The Angels came in leading the majors with 96 runs allowed with two outs.
