Sharks 6, Ducks 3: Patrick Marleau, James Sheppard and rookie Barclay Goodrow each recorded a goal and an assist as host San Jose improved to 3-1-1 on its season-high seven-game homestand by continuing its mastery of league-leading Anaheim.

Joe Pavelski netted his team-leading 25th goal, Brenden Dillon added a short-handed tally and fellow defenseman Matt Irwin also scored for the Sharks, who completed the season series with a 4-0-1 record. Joe Thornton and Tomas Hertl notched two assists apiece while Antti Niemi made 25 saves as San Jose extended its home winning streak against the Ducks to seven games.

Andrew Cogliano, Matt Beleskey and Patrick Maroon tallied for Anaheim, which had its six-game winning streak come to an end. Ilya Bryzgalov allowed all six goals on 25 shots before being relieved by Frederik Andersen, who finished with eight saves as the Ducks fell to 23-1-5 when scoring the first goal of the game.

Anaheim opened the scoring 4:57 into the contest as Cogliano buried the rebound after Niemi denied his tip-in attempt on Rickard Rakell's shot from along the right-wing boards. The Sharks took over from there, with Pavelski converting a feed from Thornton while on the doorstep during a power play at 7:23 of the first period and Goodrow chipping the puck past a defender before firing it between Bryzgalov's pads from the right faceoff circle 2:15 into the second.

Marleau made it 3-1 with a deflection four minutes later and Irwin found the top right corner of the net from the top of the slot at 12:37 to expand the lead. Sheppard scored during a 3-on-2 rush with 5 1/2 minutes left in the session and Dillon's cross-slot pass attempt caromed off a sliding Beleskey and into the net 97 seconds later, capping the string of six straight goals and ending Bryzgalov's night.
