Bruins 3, Red Wings 2 (OT): Jarome Iginla scored at 13:32 of overtime as visiting Boston overcame a two-goal deficit to take a commanding 3-1 lead in its Eastern Conference first-round series.

Following a lengthy scrum along the left-wing boards, the Bruins worked the puck loose to defenseman Dougie Hamilton, whose shot from the right-wing wall was redirected by Iginla before caroming off the leg of Detroit defenseman Danny DeKeyser and into the net. Milan Lucic scored the tying goal early in the third period and blue-liner Torey Krug also tallied for Boston, which can close out the best-of-seven series at home on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton notched two assists and Tuukka Rask made 35 saves for the Bruins, including a big stop on a breakaway by Justin Abdelkader in the opening minute of overtime. Jonas Gustavsson, making his career playoff debut after Jimmy Howard came down with the flu, turned aside 37 shots for the Red Wings.

Defenseman Niklas Kronwall and Pavel Datsyuk - who each became fathers in the past two days - recorded a goal and an assist apiece for the Red Wings, who were unable to hold a 2-0 lead and absorbed their third straight defeat following a 1-0 victory in the series opener.

Detroit had been 0-for-9 on the power play in the series but broke through on its first chance 11 minutes into the contest, when Kronwall blasted a shot from the right point past a screened Rask. Kronwall and Datsyuk combined to double the lead at 4:27 of the second period as the former forced a turnover, skated behind the net and slid a pass in front to the latter for an easy conversion.

Boston cut the deficit in half nearly six minutes later as Patrice Bergeron won a faceoff to Krug, whose blast from the point clipped the stick of Detroit's Luke Glendening and sailed past Gustavsson. The Bruins tied it 75 seconds into the third, when Carl Soderberg chased down a lead pass and backhanded the puck to Lucic, who shoveled it over the right pad of Gustavsson.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg returned to the lineup for the first time since Feb. 8. Zetterberg played one game for Team Sweden in the Olympics before undergoing back surgery on Feb. 21. ... Krug, who played collegiately at Michigan State, scored his fourth goal in 19 career playoff games. ... Howard was a late scratch and was not even on Detroit's bench, leaving the Red Wings without a backup netminder. ... Bergeron collected his fourth point of the series and has at least one in 16 of the last 17 games dating to the regular season.
