Maple Leafs 3, Kings 2: Mason Raymond scored a short-handed goal to snap a tie 5:06 into the third period and James Reimer stopped all 31 shots he faced in a relief role as visiting Toronto ended Los Angeles' eight-game winning streak.

Captain Dion Phaneuf and fellow defenseman Carl Gunnarsson scored and Nazem Kadri notched two assists for the Maple Leafs, who won two of three from the California contingent and improved to 15-4-3 in their last 22 games. Reimer started the second period in place of Jonathan Bernier, who yielded two goals on 10 shots against his former team before suffering a lower-body injury.

Marian Gaborik collected a goal and an assist for his first two points with the Kings, who were denied in handing coach Darryl Sutter his 500th coaching victory. Anze Kopitar netted a power-play goal and Jonathan Quick finished with 26 saves but was thwarted in his bid to match Rogie Vachon with a franchise-best 171st victory.

With Tyler Bozak serving a hooking penalty and the score tied 2-2, Reimer denied Kopitar from point-blank range before Toronto breezed up the ice on a 2-on-1 rush. James van Riemsdyk promptly set up Raymond, who unleashed a rocket from the edge of the right circle that beat Quick inside the near post.

Wearing its vintage purple and gold uniforms, Los Angeles drew first blood 1:57 into the first period as defenseman Drew Doughty's wrist shot deflected off Bernier and caromed off Gaborik's stick and skate before going into the net. Kopitar's one-timer from the right circle doubled the advantage at 16:05, but Phaneuf's backhander trimmed the deficit 2:08 later and Gunnarsson's shot from the point forged a tie early in the second.
