Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 3 (OT): Joffrey Lupul scored 2:21 into overtime as host Toronto improved to 13-3-3 in its last 19 contests.

In the extra session, captain Dion Phaneuf capped a pretty passing sequence by connecting with Lupul on a goal-mouth feed around Philadelphia defenseman Nicklas Grossmann. The former Flyer, who also recorded an assist, made no mistake by chipping the puck past Steve Mason (32 saves) to end the contest.

Defenseman Jake Gardiner and Nazem Kadri scored 77 seconds apart early in the first period and Mason Raymond netted a third-period tally for the Maple Leafs, who also posted a 3-1 triumph over Philadelphia on Oct. 2. Jonathan Bernier turned aside 28 shots and Troy Bodie notched a pair of assists in the win.

Kimmo Timonen scored his first two goals in 30 career games versus Toronto. Fellow defenseman Braydon Coburn also tallied and Jakub Voracek added two assists for the Flyers, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with just their second loss in nine contests (7-1-1).

Raymond gave Toronto a 3-2 lead with 6:26 remaining in the third period. His initial shot from the doorstep was denied by Mason, but the puck trickled toward the goal line before the netminder inadvertently knocked it in with his left pad. Coburn answered nearly four minutes later with a blast from the point to knot it up.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto seized a quick 2-0 advantage before Timonen scored from the left faceoff circle with 1:58 remaining in the second period for his first tally since Dec. 9. The veteran forged a tie 7:19 into the third with a backhander from the doorstep. ... With rugged RW Steve Downie sidelined by the flu, Philadelphia LW Jay Rosehill cracked the lineup against his former team after serving as a healthy scratch for the previous 10 games. ... The Maple Leafs recalled enforcer Frazer McLaren from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League prior to the contest. McLaren, who played in place of RW David Clarkson (leg), engaged in a spirited fight with Rosehill midway through the second period. ... Nineteen medal-winning Canadian Olympians from the Sochi Games were honored prior to the contest.
